Everyone knows that Steve Jobs helped us get rid of keyboard. The government wants to help us too (at least that’s what they say). But will they? Because the crap they suggest is not only about getting rid of piracy, but getting rid of the Internet making every site a potential target to their nukes.
There are a lot of things that would go away, the things we should rather forget about because they don’t matter. But… not in this case. Interested?
Then I can say that THIS
is what you’re going to get trying to access your own site to see what’s going on there.
And sorry, if you thought there was a way around, maybe some shortcut… There is not. The only thing you (and us) can do is prevent them from making this law real.
This SOPA thing means Stop Online Piracy Act which is intended to protect copyright. Everyone knows that we are getting deeper in sharing around the web, so some companies are crying their eyes out in order to have more money sitting in their huge villas and driving their cool sports cars.
So, this law may be considered as good solution for musicians / huge entertainment companies, but is it good for small business you are running? Just don’t answer.
Just imagine that someone posted a link in the comments, and that link leads to a site that uses a copyrighted image inappropriately. So what? They will just shut your site down (including your domain name) and/or block your PayPal account. Nice one, eh?
And you will be able to defend it after it has been shut down.
By the way, this means social media is endangered too.
The IP address isn’t blocked, the domain name is, and the real pirates have no problem using IP addresses in order to download the copyrighted content.
But that means your customers won’t know how to use your IP to find you. So, just sit back and relax – you don’t exist anymore.
Did you post an image somewhere? Well, get your rusks ready because you’ll be punished with 5 years in jail for this. < Just imagining how the jails are going to be overloaded >.
Yes, if you’re playing your beloved Johnny Cash’s song and making a video which will be posted on YouTube – think twice before doing that. Unless you have the extra 5 years of your life of course.
It’s economic meltdown, and SOPA can be the last nail in its coffin.
And these companies are going to be first in line for this ass kicking project.
These companies are also worried, because this act means no next step in web evolution. I think now everyone understands and supports Amazon, Google, Wikipedia and other companies which threat to shut down making an internet blackout day, because we need to raise awareness of this danger of Internet Holocaust.
If they start blocking the domain names, it may open a huge hole in the global DNS making the life of an ordinary hacker as easy as never before.
They are making a big mistake because they’re blocking our future which is Internet. It doesn’t matter which option you use to promote and support your business and what kind of business you are running – the Internet accepts that and helps you.
1. Spread the word! SOPA is 5 years in jail for an ordinary user.
2. Spread the word! SOPA doesn’t really scare the real pirates.
3. Spread the word! SOPA can finish off the economy.
