Can’t make much of this. Seems to be a cut-down, locked-up version that only allows a singles pre-set configuration to be created. Sad, I had some hopes this would help create some truly innovative layouts.
Should also mention that the tutorial forgot to mention 3 very important steps:
1. Download.
2. Run executable.
3. Run Photoshop.
Dani, unfortunately for now you can only use Divine under Windows. But the good news is that we are planning Mac version of Divine in future. As soon as we release it, we’ll let you know.
senthilkumaranms, thank you for the question. Paid versions are yet on their alpha stage of development – the release will be ready soon. The exact price hasn’t been fixed yet, but it’s about to be between $60-200 for the Divine Elemente (formerly Divine Personal) intended for bloggers working with CMS WordPress.
David, the thing is Divine Free Version has certain limitations in its functionality. You can find the details here: Free version limitations . We actually planned the Free version as an experiment – you suggest, we improve. So, we are glad to hear any criticism, remarks etc.
About three steps that you mentioned – thanks a lot, we’ll take this into consideration. And, unfortunately, the sound will be missing for some time, as we’re yet improving the program and the site as well :)

When I install it its not on the photoshop interface and im not sure where to find it?
Elliott, Luarent
There are two ways of launching Divine: by going to Divine->Publish or File->Automate->Divine in Photoshop CS3; by pressing File->Automate->Divine in Photoshop CS4.
Hope this helps:)
Hallo,
I`ve just installed Divine. But in my cs3 there is no divine there. I don`t know how to find it. I`ve seen the tutorials and do the installation like them but there isn`t Divine in CS3. Can anyone help me?
Roland
hello olga,
same problem with me.
No Divine Button at all.
Even your hint with “go to File->Automate->Divine in your Photoshop and find Divine there” doesnt help because under that path i also cant find the “Divine”
regards axel
Same problem here on WinXP SP3 and Photoshop Extended CS3.
Installed Divine, launched Photoshop. No Menu entry, neither in “File->Automate” nor in the main menu.
Maybe there’s problem with localization? I’m running a German OS and Creative Suite.
Do you guys with the same problem also work on localized OS/CS?
Guys, Axel and Klickreflex,
This issue is connected with the installation path for the plugins in un-English versions of Photoshop. We’re fixing it at the moment; the newest software made will be ready soon. Sorry for this inconvenience, please try doing the following:
1. If you already have Divine plugin installed on your computer:
- Launch Photoshop
- In ‘Edit-> Preference-> Plugins’ menu enter manually a path to the catalogue with the plugin (\Adobe Photoshop CSx\Plug-Ins)
- Restart Photoshop
2. In case you haven’t yet installed Divine:
- Launch plugin installer
- Choose ‘Custom folder’ while plugin installation (point where plugins are placed in your Photoshop version. E.g. in French version they’re located in ‘”..\Modules externes’)
- Launch Photoshop.
Please let me know if it helped.
Thanks for your help, Olga.
I couldn’t figure out, where to point photoshop to look for the Divine plugin. So I re-installed Divine and chose the custom plugin folder (meaning “C:\Programme\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CS3\Zusatzmodule” on a default German installation of PS CS3 on WinXP).
Now it works :)
Awesome program but gonna wait till the paid version comes out. I think $60 is very reasonable, the price of a premium WP theme, but $200…ouch. We freelancers are not rich contrary to popular belief. This could save me a lot of time however. Great job, keep up the excellent work!
RJ,
UPD: The final price has been changed ($100-200) for the Divine Elemente (formerly Divine Personal) because of greatly extended functionality in comparison with Free one. So, now it’s not only for bloggers (as we thought before) but for designers and webdevelopers who are very interested in our product too.
Hi, I installed and it seems everything is installed right but when I click on automate > Divine, Photoshop crashes. I have CS4 (x32) and Vista x64 Ultimate. Can anyone help me? Thnx
I think I found my error, It’s starts up normaly after I (re)booted my pc and when I open a normal good filesize it works, but when I first open a wrond file size (to large/smal) it won’t open any other file. Maybe a point of improvement! It also works only with larger than 1000px wie and not with 1000px wide.
I’m using PS C2 with last update and DIVINE 0.5.0.474
If I open a file (PSD) that doesn’t fall within the acceptable sizes of DIVINE Free Edition then the error message appears and I can’t close it. So, if I start with the right size (i.e. the sample template) and open Help -> About, the About window opens though I can’t close it. I can tab through the menu using my keyboard though it still doesn’t respond to mouse clicks/enter etc.
Only way to close is to Ctrl,Alt + Del.
David,
Our developers have studied your issue. To help you out in full, we need you to answer the following questions (please send your answers, using our contact form)
1. When you launch Divine, you click “About” and it doesn’t work out. Please try pressing Escape/Enter – does the window close?
2. Do the same with the wizard.
Looking forward to hearing from you.
File->Automate->Divine in Photoshop CS4
Divine doesn’t appear in there.
I installed it twice. no sine of Divine in PS CS4
Can Admin Help ?
Is it metter if PS installed in other hard drive then windows and it effect Divine or something alse. becouse i installed it and there is no DIVINE in PS CS4 in file->automate
Soso,
Divine installer has an option of choosing path for the plugin. Please choose the directory where plugin is located, and the problem will be gone.
So far the only way I can get it to open a PSD is to resize the PSD to exactly 1000×1000. I’ve tried all variations within the error message 750×100 through 1000×2000 and only the 1000×1000 size works.
It’s fine….just thought I’d mention it here for others.
Rob,
Please look through the limitation rules attentively again:
http://www.divine-project.com/documentation/limitations
Layout size must not exceed 1000×2000px or be smaller than 750×1000px. This means the document width must not be less than 750 px and more than 1000 px, the height must be within 1000 px and 2000 px.
This limitation will be gone in Divine paid versions.
Hiya Olga…
What an innovative approach to WP design! Thanks for allowing me to download the free version and participate in this incredible time-saver.
I’m one of your ‘non-developer’ clients. So I’ll be interested to see how I do with this.
One question I have for you…
Would you please think about making your plugin compatible with the THESIS theme? I would *LOVE* to be able to use DIVINE to create a Thesis skin. At present, there seems to be no tool that seamlessly works with Thesis. Yours could be the first. And would really make Thesis fly.
Thanks again.
Blue skies
Roy
To those who experience a PhotosShop crash…
As far as I can tell, PhotoShop is NOT crashing.
It’s simply ‘locked’ while being used by the DIVINE plugin.
It *SEEMS* like it’s crashed.
But you’ll find that if you close the Divine interface down, you’ll get full control of your PhotoShop page once again.
Hope that helps.
Hello,
I use Photoshop CS3. I have a question. In Divine, Right-clicking elements displays the ‘Convert area based on’ menu and the options seem to be pre-configured intelligible names such ‘Post Date’ ‘Author’ etc. Secondly, you can also see a layout grid structure from within Divine. Who made this layout? I can’t see it on the PSD as slices, guides etc or anything
How do we create a template from the ground up?
Hello Jad, I’d like to clear the situation. You’ve downloaded just a sample of the ready theme from our site. Thats why, you can see no layout on the PSD as slices, guides, as it is just a sample. To create a new one, please follow the instructions
Hello Javier,
I have to tell you that the situation about Mac version is the following: the date of Divine Elemente (formerly Divine Personal) Edition release is coming up, and now our developers are occupied with it, having no spare time to proceed with the next version developing. However, we hope that realization of our plans will happen soon.
We’ll let you know the details.
I have no problem installing Divine but the program shuts itself down after I launch it. I thought the problem was with my psd files until I downloaded the swimsuit theme and get the same result. The program launches itself and I see it loading (the white balls turning brighter) then it just shuts itself down with no prompt. What is the issue. I am using Photoshop CS4 with windows XP.
Jason, sorry for this inconvenience.
Please, follow these steps:
1. Delete Divine software from the control panel.
2. Then, download the latest Divine Free version from the official website.
3. Install the new one.
4. And launch Divine from Menu.
Hope this helps.
Thank you for your response Nina. I am running CS4 Extended and I deleted the Divine program and reinstalled it yet the same issue keeps reoccurring. I go to File/ Automate / Divine. The program loads itself until the third white ball appears (under the Divine logo) and then shuts itself down with no prompt. I am using the swimsuit theme so I do not know what the problem could be.
Jason, we are working on the functional of Divine plugin now. And program stability is our priority for the moment. So, we’ll let you know details as soon as a new version is completed and appear at the official website.
Very good project! But I have the CS4 Extended version (64bit) and I can’t work with Divine :(
I wait for the PS 64bit version for Windows 7.
Cheers,
Mark
This is a great idea, BUT yes but, my resolution 1440×900 is not accepted? wtf….
Pls fix some of this bugs then we are happy test it again “Help you grow and pay in the future”
PLS notify me when this is fix so i can give it a go, resolution not accepted Error, come on…
Thanks
Josh A, I’d like to clear the situation, the version you are testing now is Divine Free one. As it’s a tech demo, it has several limitations. Limited layout size is one of them.
Andrew, please follow these limitations of Divine Free Edition, as for the moment (until release of a full stable version) just this edition is available to try.
Thank you for developing such a needed product! Unfortunately I use a mac with all of my creative software and don’t have it on my PC… so I cannot use this. I am SO VERY excited and anxious to use this! Any thoughts on when this will be available? I noticed on the posts here that last summer you mentioned that you would be coming out with it “soon”. Thank you!
It really takes some time to release a full stable version with no limitations. By the way, a closed beta testing has already started, and a public beta one is coming soon. So, we are very busy now with release of Divine Elemente (formerly Divine Personal) to present it ASAP. Regarding Mac version, everything points to the fact that it’ll be released not earlier than summer’2010.
Progress of development depends on sales of the commercial edition in 2010. But it may be delivered to the market much faster.
To speed up the process of Mac version’s development next month we are starting a partnership program with the third parties and their products and services related to Divine Products. So, you could purchase their products, services (if you like them), and thus you’ll speed up the development of Mac version.
Nice project, I can’t wait for the Personal Edition to be released.
I’ve tried the free edition, it works, but it’s too limitative, very frustrating…
Be sure I’ll buy it !
Could you tell us more about the release of the Personal edition, a bit more precise than second quarter of 2010, does that mean April, June?? I know you guys are working on it, but us there are so excited to use it !
Thank you
Hi! Looking forward to Mac Version. You mentioned in an earlier post that there are third party products and services that can be procured to help in the development of the Mac OS version of the Divine tool. What are those third parties, how do we find them so we can help support the cause? :) thanks!
Corrie, Thanks for your sympathy and your wish to help. It really sounds great for us.
As soon as the software is released (in 1-2 months), we’ll inform all of people concerned 2-3 weeks before it.
I really have to say that your plug in for photoshop looks very great!
I have installed Devine and found the Devine plug-in in Cs2 (works on windos vista). Though, I have got a problem with using the Devine tool. Nothing happens when i try to use it. I also tried it with the ’swimsuit’ theme.
Could somebody tell me if I might have forgotten someting.. ?
Thanks!
Hi Karin, thanks for your interest in Divine. To clear the situation and help you, we need more details on the issue occurred. Please visit Ideastrunk to tell us about the technical problem and describe it there in details or attach a screenshot. Thanks.
Hi guys. I just installed Divine plugin on Win7 (PS CS3). I can see the Divine label but when i click on it, nothing happens. I´ve try it in many ways (even from your psd template) but it doesn´t work. Any ideas? Thanks
“Guys, I run it with template 900×900 but it said “Divine does not work with your resolution”
Yup I agree, don’t put stuff for trial that does not work. I have wasted a lot of time in the hope that you are coming up with something great.
Quit the pre-sale factor it does not work anymore.
Good luck !
Lemarquis, I’d like to clear the situation, the version you are testing now is Divine Free one. And as it’s a tech demo, it has several limitations. Limited layout size is one of them. However, the first paid edition with widely extended functionality will be released very soon.
Klausabio, please try to reinstall the software completely. I mean remove Divine from your computer, download the latest Divine Free version from the official website an install the new one. Hope this’ll help.
I am running Photoshop CS4 (64-bit) on Windows 7 (64-bit). I’ve installed the plug-in and have my additional plug-in preference pointing to the correct folder (and restarted PS), but I still can’t gt it to show up in either the menu bar or under automate. Please tell me what I’m doing wrong.
